About Jon
I was born in Northern Kentucky and raised in multiple suburbs of the greater Cincinnati area. During high school I met Carrie, my wonderful bride-to-be. Neither of us had a relationship with Christ at that point. But my parents continually shared the gospel with us, and believing friends invested time into answering all of the questions we had about God’s Word and sin. As a result, by His grace, Carrie and I both recognized our sinfulness and need for Jesus. We both received Christ as Savior in 1997 and began to follow Him. Carrie and I married one year later in 1998 and today we enjoy three gifts from God in our oldest son Payton (2002), followed by our daughter Kylie (2006), and our youngest son, Carson (2007).
Early in my walk with God, I was eager to grow in my relationship with Christ and plugged right in to ministry in our local church. After several years of serving in our church, God had given me a desire to pastor. I wasn’t sure what that looked like at the time, but I did not believe I was prepared. That was when Carrie and I decided to move to Springfield, Missouri to receive formal training at Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary. During my time in graduate school, the desire God had given me to pastor became stronger and clearer. God gave us the desire to plant a church in Cincinnati and reach the people of this great city with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Once my schooling was complete, we moved back to Cincinnati and began to plan and pray for this new church plant. In 201X, we planted Church X in YYYY with a team of three families. I am thrilled to be a pastor of this church as we work to impact our wonderful city and watch God’s plan unfold as we strive to reach even more people in Cincinnati with the gospel, all for His glory.
